Bay Area: the Air District plans to phase out the sale/installation of new gas furnaces starting in 2029 under its zero-NOx appliance rules. We’ll confirm your address and advise compliant options. KQED+1

Elsewhere in CA: many districts already require ultra-low NOx furnace models (e.g., SCAQMD Rule 1111). We verify by ZIP during your site visit. AQMD

Federal: newly manufactured residential gas furnaces must be ≥95% AFUE starting late 2028, which affects future model availability. energy.gov
