Mini-Split Systems (Heating, Ductless) — Installation & Replacement
Room-by-room heat without ducts. A ductless mini-split warms specific areas with a quiet indoor head and a compact outdoor unit. You get zoned control, low noise, and efficient heating—great for additions, ADUs, garages, and that one room that’s always cold.
How it works (simple)
The outdoor unit moves heat from outside air to the indoor head. A variable-speed compressor and fan ramp gently to hold a steady temperature instead of blasting on/off. Each head has its own thermostat/remote (and app control on most models).
Types & options
- Single-zone (one outdoor → one indoor) for a single space
- Multi-zone (one outdoor → 2–5+ indoors) for several rooms
- Head styles: wall-mount (most common), low-wall console, or slim ceiling cassette where it fits
- Cold-climate/inverter models for better winter performance
- Add-ons: Wi-Fi/app control, condensate pumps where gravity drain isn’t possible
